ABU DHABI CLASSICS DONETSK OPERA AND BALLET THEATER

DONETSK OPERA AND BALLET THEATRE WITH BOLSHOI SOLOISTS IVAN VASILIEV & EKATERINA KRYSANOVA ALONGSIDE FIRST EMIRATI BALLERINA ALIA AL NEYADI

20 Apr 2018 20:00 Emirates Palace This Abu Dhabi Classics’ season will conclude with a one-of-a-kind ballet performance by the Donetsk Opera and Ballet Theatre with leading ballet dancers from the renowned Bolshoi Theatre, Ivan Vasiliev and Ekaterina Krisyanova, alongside the first Emirati Ballerina – Alia Al Neyadi for a one-night special performance at Emirates Palace on the 20th of April 2018. Le Corsaire, based on Lord Byron’s poem, is a classical heritage ballet first performed at the Paris Grand Opera in 1856.   Choreographed and staged by the legend himself: Yuri Grigorovich, it incorporates all the iconic dancing scenes: Le Jardin Animé, Pas d’Esclave, the Grand Pas de Trois des Odalisques and Le Corsaire Pas de Deux, which are among classical ballet’s most iconic and performed excerpts. Yuri Grigorovich first staged this ballet in 1994 at the Bolshoi Theatre.   The story follows the adventures of Conrad, chief of the pirates, and Medora, the young Greek woman he loves. Le Corsaire, much like another famous pirate tale, glosses over kidnapping while focusing on the adventures and romance. This season’s Abu Dhabi Classics programme is organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism and produced by Flash Entertainment. Tickets are available now on sale with prices starting from AED 195.    Book your tickets at www.ticketmaster.ae  and all Virgin Megastores across the UAE. Nirvana Travel & Tourism, the official Travel Agent Partner, is providing hotel packages for the show. For package information, visit www.ntravel.ae  and to book call +971 2 627 7997 Ext. 2
